Touring the Braum's Factory

It was time to head back to the Lewisville/Flower Mound area one final time, so Steve could get his permanent crown placed, and we could "take off" for what we perceive will be the final leg of our journey/great adventure.  We heard great things about the Braum's factory tour, so we decided we would drive back to the Dallas area by way of Tuttle, OK so as to include a stop for a tour.  We weren't sad to leave Abe's RV park; that's for sure!  We took off from OKC by about 9:30 and made it to Braum's for the 11:00 tour with time to spare.  The tour includes an informational video, followed by a trip on the "cow shuttle" and ends with a chocolate dipped vanilla ice cream novelty.  Yumm!!  Overall, we were impressed that Braums is committed to not expanding beyond 300 miles from it's farm.  If it is made in their factory today, then it is loaded on to the trucks tonight for delivery tomorrow.  They grow all the grains for hay to feed their cows, and they fertilize with the manure from their own cows.  They even make their own plastic milk jugs! Overall, a pretty good operation!  If you're in the area, and you like ice cream, call & reserve a spot on the tour!  It was definitely the best part of our day; the rest of it was spent in the truck, with a couple of nasty traffic back-ups on our way back to Dallas.  One looooong day in the truck!

The birthday girl!  Poor girl had to spend most of her 9th birthday in the truck, en route from OKC to the Dallas area, but she was a good sport about it.
The shuttle we drove around in, you couldn't take photos inside the facilities.
Enjoying our free treat after the tour
